What It’s Like to Play at Just Escape Room (Straight From the People Who Built It)

If you’re in or around La Grange, Oak Brook, or anywhere near Chicago, and you’re looking for something fun and different to do escape rooms are such a good call.

And if you’re already an escape room fan, then you know there’s a huge difference between rooms that are thrown together… and rooms that are built with love. That’s what we try to do at Just Escape Room.

We’re a small team. We’re local. And honestly? We’re kind of nerds about this stuff in the best way.

 

So What Is This Place?

Just Escape Room is tucked right into downtown La Grange, and it’s been around since 2017. It’s grown a lot over the years, and now we’ve got a few different rooms to choose from each one with a completely different vibe.

We don’t do cookie-cutter puzzles or plug and play themes. Everything in our rooms is made by hand, tested, and tweaked based on what real players enjoy.

We get teams coming in from Naperville, Downers Grove, Oakbrook, and all over the Chicago suburbs. Some folks even make the drive from the city just to play.

One of the Most Played Rooms: Floor 66

Our most popular room right now is called Floor 66.

Here’s the setup: You're in the year 2107, and something strange is going on in a high-rise condo owned by a scientist named Dr. Montgomery. You’ve got an hour to figure out what’s happening before… well, let’s just say the stakes are high.

It’s full of light effects, cool tech, and “aha!” moments that people really get into. You don’t need to be a genius to solve it, but teamwork definitely helps. And honestly, that’s half the fun figuring things out together.

 

Who Comes Here?

All kinds of people.

We see couples on date nights, friends looking for something fun to do on the weekend, families trying to mix it up, and even scout troops or corporate teams doing something outside the usual routine.

If you’ve got a birthday, we’ve even got a deal where the birthday person plays free with a group of four or more. Plus, we’re partnered with Aurelio’s Pizza just a few blocks away, so you can turn the whole thing into a day out.

It’s Easy to Get Here

We’re in La Grange, which makes us a super easy drive from:

  • Naperville

  • Downers Grove

  • Oakbrook

  • And about 25-30 minutes from downtown Chicago

There’s free parking, coffee shops, and restaurants all around. You could grab lunch, do a room, and still be home before dinner.
